Short answer—yes
I’ve not “suffered” from it for years now, but it’s one of those things that always stays anchored in your thinking and doing to some extent.
From my experience with others, a good way to tell if you have it is to see whether you just want things a certain way, or need them that way. Whether thoughts just reoccur, or are near impossible to shut off.

To be completely honest though, I’m surprised that your counselor is withholding a clear answer. The least they could do is send you to someone else for evaluation. OCD isn’t something to leave unsupervised in my opinion. It can be gotten under control easier than other issues—but also spiral further and further out of it unexpectedly. You want to make sure it’s the former if you have the chance.
