Kalypso Media, known for series like Tropic Yes Patrician, will now sell all of its new products at lower prices. The German company announced it in a statement in its Blog of Official page
“We have been able to increase our digital sales and, most importantly, our margins in recent months as physical sales in traditional retail have plummeted due to the COVID-19 situation. At this time, we do not expect this trend to reverse even after the pandemic.
Most of our fans buy or stream games, mostly digitally, so it is highly likely that sales of physical products will continue to decline, saving us manufacturing, logistics and distribution costs, ”said Simon Hellwig, CEO by Kalypso.
Kalypso Media estimated savings.
Before the New policy, Kalypso Media sold games with a suggested retail price of $ 49.99 for PC and $ 59.99 for consoles. Now, all of the publisher’s new titles will sell for $ 39.99 and $ 49.99 respectively.
Pre-orders of Disciples are available in the Kalypso Store with a 15% discount, as well as in Steam
Disciples: Liberation is a large, content-rich title that would justify a much higher retail price. However, we believe that despite high production values, we apply our pricing policy correctly and can continue to inspire our community for Kalypso products, ”Kalypso Media added.
Without a doubt, great news for Kalypso fans, I wish more developers could lead the same strategy in terms of digital content.
