The Seasons in Halo Infinite will add new systems, events, features, and more to multiplayer.
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode was at the center of recent announcements from 343 Industries, with the latest overview trailer providing details on how customizations, battle passes, and more would work. In a recent Inside Infinite post, Live Team Design Director Ryan Paradis and Lead Progression Designer Christopher Blohm shared details of what to expect each season.
“Seasons last about every three months and offer new gameplay content, new events, new systems, new adjustments, new progressions,” as Paradis writes.
Blohm added that “We are focused on expanding the gaming experience each season. We’ll look at what worked and see if we want to do more of it. If something didn’t work, we’ll learn from it and do better in the future. We want to experiment, learn, and listen with each release to make the game better for everyone. ”In addition to customization and progression, there will be“ big (and small) features that make the game a bigger, more fun experience. ”
The developers don’t want to take three months to fix bugs, even if, depending on the prioritization on their side, “everything will not be fixed immediately.” Apart from that, 343 Industries has the infrastructure to provide bug fixes quickly, so the players at least not have to wait for these to be implemented in the game. Regarding Season 1, which is focused on Reach, Blohm said:
“Almost every week the activities presented to the player will stir up. In certain big weeks there will be events that include new activities and special reward tracks – free reward tracks. “
More details will be announced later, but there will be event types that deliver themed rewards called “Fractures”. While other cosmetics are canonical and in line with the in-game lore, Fractures tend to “lean on things farther away.” The samurai-esque Yoroi armor from the multiplayer debut trailer is one such reward.
Halo Infinite is slated for release in 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
