Last February we got the big news of the comeback after years of ostracism, the news of the return to development of Six Days in Fallujah.
Victura and Highwire Games have announced that Six Days in Fallujah, the first-person tactical military shooter game based on stories from the Second Battle of Fallujah in 2004, will arrive on PC and consoles in 2021. The title was originally announced by Atomic Games in 2009. Six Days in Fallujah is back thanks to a new distributor and development studio, made up of some of the people who held senior positions on the teams that created Halo and Destiny.
Six days in Fallujah won’t fear controversy
Recently, the study wanted to define how the story of the game will play out and how it will be told to us. Victura ha contado con personas que estuvieron en la guerra de Irak para poder representar de la mejor manera posible las dos caras de la moneda, por ello, insist on that no serán opiniones sesgadas, pero como es evidente, parece que la política will be complicado saltarsela anyway.
The stories of the Six Days in Fallujah are told through games and documentary material involving military and civilians who have had different experiences and have different perspectives on the Iraq war. To date, 26 Iraqi civilians and dozens of military personnel have shared with us some of the most difficult times of their lives, giving us the opportunity to share them with you, through their words.
The documentary will discuss the events and political decisions that led to the Battle of Fallujah and its aftermath. Six Days in Fallujah will offer a perspective on urban warfare that cannot be echoed in other media. We believe that the stories of the sacrifices of this generation should be told by the Marines, soldiers and civilians who were there. We are confident that you will find the game, and the events it recreates, complex.
In terms of the plot, it seems the team takes very seriously to portray in a video game such a crude story as that of the Iraq war and in particular the battle of Fallujah, where weapons such as white phosphorus and other chemical agents were used, (this will not be shown in the game).
