Summary

  • Immerse yourself in nature and go on a sugar swift’s voyage to save his family.
  • Fly over misty precipices, jump from tree to tree and climb to the top of the forest sky.
  • Beware of the dangerous creatures that roam these untamed lands.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to explore nature as a small animal? We asked ourselves that too, so five years ago we set out to make an adventure game in which you play as a tiny sugar glider. It’s been taking a long time, but as we near the release of the game we’re excited to announce Away: The Survival Series will be backwards compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X in 2021 | S come!

Inspired by nature documentaries, path takes you on a sugar swift journey into the wild to save his family. Fly over misty chasms, jump from tree to tree and climb to the top of the forest canopy as a narrator describes your every move. That’s the beauty of playing as a sugar glider: you are free to explore your surroundings as you wish!

Away: The Survival Series

Immerse yourself in nature

As you venture deeper into the wild, your adventures will immerse yourself in beautiful environments, each with its own ecosystem. Whether you’re sliding through the forest, exploring an underground cave, or sneaking through the swamp, you can interact with plants, insects, and animals of all shapes and sizes.

That said, some animals are more dangerous than others. When you are at the end of the food chain, you must rely on the sugar swift’s agility and stealth to avoid becoming your predators’ next meal. In some cases, however, you may have no choice but to face enemies head-on and put the sugar swift’s combat skills to the test. Whatever the situation requires, you need to keep your feet thinking when you encounter new creatures in the wild.

Away: The Survival Series

Play your own nature documentary

One of our development priorities path was to capture the feel of the “nature documentary,” and a big part of that was getting the atmosphere right through the game’s music and sound design. That’s why we teamed up with Mike Raznick, composer of the BBC documentaries Life and Planet Earth II, to create an enchanting orchestral soundtrack for our game. Recorded with a 40-string live orchestra, path

The musical score brings your adventures to life and immerses you in nature like never before.

Away: The Survival Series

Coming soon on Xbox

After 5 years of development, we look forward to bringing Away: The Survival Series for Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S through backward compatibility. We’ll be releasing it later this year and can’t wait to get your hands on the game so you can experience sugar glider life from the comfort of your living room!
