Just yesterday I took that from me in a "true megaton", 100% support from the Directx 12 Ultimate API between PC and Xbox Series X. Obviously, this good news removes the key obstacle I mentioned earlier and thinks that Microsoft's competitive advantage in terms of game development, something I wrote with this text.
DirectX 12 Ultimate is an API developed with AMD and we've talked about before. But I probably know it means that the double development cycle is completed
By integrating the graphics platform on PC and Xbox Series X, the DX12 Ultimate serves as a power multiplier for the entire gaming environment. Cycles no longer work independently! Instead, they are now packaged in direct combinations: When the Xbox Series X launches, there will already be millions of DX12 Ultimate PC Graphics cards worldwide with the same feature being used, prompting the rapid adoption of these new features.
And when the Xbox Series X brings a wave of new console players, the PC will also benefit from this huge stream of new hardware thanks to the DX12 Ultimate!
There is no reason not to bring future games to the Xbox Series X
Being a core platform is usually a third-party PC, there is little reason not to bring the game to the Xbox Series X when using new APIs. As I mentioned, AMD is now at its peak and its market penetration is excellent, meaning these tools will be generally standard in the future.
In the past, many studios have created their own PC and PS4 games due to limited resources; so they could not bet on the third development. Now that option has been removed, and it's very possible that the Xbox Series X comes alive with the PS4 status of the current generation.
