So far the only two navigation apps available for cars with Android Auto It was Google Maps and Waze, but since the end of last year that has started to change. In December, the launch of the beta versions of the third-party app began, which allows you to use Sygic in Android Auto.
From now on, that changes. Android Auto
More third-party apps on Android Auto
This is made possible by the launch of the new Android for Cars library which was released in the latest Jetpack update that arrived on our phones last March.
Most developers have migrated their applications to the new library to achieve the more than 500 vehicle models compatible with Android Auto. It only remains to wait for them to update the stable version of their navigation apps to support the Google car platform.
Some of the apps that will be updated to Android Auto over the next few days will be T map, Chargepoint, Sygic, PlugShare, AmiGO, 2GIS, A Better Route Planner y Flitsmeister. The user will only have to download these applications from the Play Store.
With this new feature, Android Auto no longer only allows you to download music, podcasts and messaging applications. Now we can also have our favorite GPS navigator as well as apps to find parking lots or charging stations for our electric car.
