Netflix is a very important streaming and movie streaming platform with a wide audience. With millions of users using their services on both computers, tablets and mobile phones, the sensible thing would be to think that there are few complaints we can have on the platform, something very real by the way.
We're not saying we like one type of series and movies over another, after all that's a matter of taste – though the February premiers are really interesting – but one of the most annoying tasks Netflix has: auto play.
Netflix listens: this way you can remove automatic playback and save data
Some people find this feature useful. Some not so much.
We heard it loud and clear – members can now control that it doesn't see the autoplay preview on Netflix. Here's how: https://t.co/6V2TjEW6HD https://t.co/zbz4E8fVab

With the verification of a legitimate Netflix account on Twitter, we can remove this awesome activity and in a way that explains (the steps to be followed to disable automatic playback):
- Sign in Netflix in a web browser
- Select Manage profiles
- Select the profile you want
- Check or uncheck the boxes Auto Play controls
Though fortunately this is not the only thing Netflix brings. Because if we have an Android smartphone and are one of the all-time favorite to devour our favorite game series and movies, we're in luck. Netflix will allow us to save a few of our rating data from now on
She explains in her official blog and that from now on Netflix for Android is starting to use codec AV1 which allows for up to 20% more insight when it comes to streaming content and therefore save data. For this option to work, we need to do the following within the Android app:
- Settings
- Data usage
- Select to save the data
Currently this useful option is only available on Android devices even though Netflix has already stated that it is working to take it to other platforms. Finally note that the AVod codec not available for all Netflix catalog titles.
