Clubhouse is a new format, a different social network than what we are used to. This the social network is voice-based and in communication with other users, without needing to see us and without any type of image. A kind of modern radio where everyone can create a room to talk to whoever they want.
Flag just hit the market and an invitation is required to register, although there are some great ways to get an invitation. We already know how to create a room, how to turn on notifications when the people we love are talking, how to change your username, create a club in the Clubhouse or how to silence us.
Can you send a direct message to someone in the Clubhouse?
Unfortunately, Clubhouse does not allow you to send direct messages to anyone in the app. It is a function that may come in the future, but at the moment we don’t have a DM at the Clubhouse. Maybe it is something that is done on purpose, it is a voice driven app, so sending written messages is not its ‘nature’.
You “can” send a direct message to a Clubhouse user
However, while there is no way to send direct messages in Clubhouse, we do have a way to communicate with other users via messages. This is achieved through our profile is associated with a Twitter or Instagram account. Any user can link their existing social media profiles to their Clubhouse account to facilitate direct message contact.
To send a message to a Clubhouse user, here are the steps to follow:
- Press at the top left on the search icon
- Locate the user you want to get in touch with.
- In the profile below, you have the possibility to enter the Instagram Twitter Profile of the user.
- Once on Twitter or Instagram, you can send you a direct message.
It is true that these users they might have closed direct messages in these social networks, but at the moment this is the only way to send direct messages to Clubhouse users.
