Those who have been on the apple platform for a while will remember that, a few years ago, when we started the computer, we heard moral sound. It was called Chime and today, thanks to the new command, we can return it to our Mac.
Until 2016 all Macs released this unique sound at runtime. It was, in addition to a nice touch, a way to show a satisfying beginning. After 2016, excluding the 2017 MacBook Air Chime It disappeared completely.
How to apply i Chime on our Mac
Several years ago a Final Order was obtained Chime what works, though, is what Apple did after that. Now the hidden option is also available inside macOS Catalina, the steps are as follows:
- We open the app Signal. We can use Spotlight (Command (⌘) + Spacebar) to search it.
- We copy and paste the following command (without quotes): "sudo nvram StartupMute =% 00".
- Press Enter (↩︎).
- We write the password for our computer. By doing this we will not see any indication that we are writing, it is normal.
- Press Enter (↩︎).
Besides being absolutely sure that it will work on all machines, we were able to double-check the MacBook Pro about three and four years ago.
If we want work again
As happened in 2016, it is possible that the application of this law will disappear in the coming renewal, but as long as we can enjoying a small part of Apple's history.
