Two years ago The option to silence contacts on Instagram has arrived in Europe, which allows you to disable messages and profile. By activating this function in one of the profiles that we follow, we will stop seeing their posts and / or their stories in the social network feed. Although it is possible that after a while you do not want to silence someone anymore.
If you want to unmute someone on Instagram, you will be able to see their posts again in the Feed and in your Stories, just as you did before you deactivate their profile. To do this, we have to follow a series of steps in the Android app.
How to fix the most common Instagram issues on Android
If you are having any of the most common Instagram issues on Android, we will show you the solutions to get the app working again.
Go back to see another account’s posts on Instagram
The ability to unmute someone on Instagram is possible, although it is somewhat hidden, so that not all users are aware of the steps for doing so. As it happens when you silence someone, that person will not know anything, because the social network will not issue any notification at any time, so you can do it without worry. The steps to follow in this case are:
- Open Instagram on your phone.
- Go to the profile of the person you’ve silenced.
- Click on Next.
- In the menu that appears on the screen, enter the Mute option.
- If any of the options are enabled, turn off the switch.
If you have disabled this account in the past, you will see that their stories or posts are turned off, indicated by the on switch. When you turn this switch off, you’ll see posts or stories from that account in your social media feed just like before. No notification will be emitted about this action, so the other person will not know that you have ended this silence.
It is possible that after removing the silence from this account, the story is not yet in the home page thread. In this case, go to that person’s profile and press and hold the profile picture, where you can see the stories as well. A menu will then appear where we will have the option “Remove silence”.
