In-app purchases are common, like it or not, and they don’t seem to be going away any time soon. The problem faced by users cif they accidentally make a purchase or it’s done by one of your children, it’s to contact Apple to request a refund.

Apple is aware that the process is not the best and with iOS 15 it has added a new option that will allow users request a refund for in-app purchases from the app itself

thanks to the new StoreKit API that all developers will have to implement.

Developers will need to implement this new functionality within their applications. This option will be displayed by the button Refund request. By clicking on this option, we must indicate what is the problem for which we are requesting the refund of the purchase that we have made.

We may also know the status of the request at any time through the website that Apple makes available to us for Report a problem with an application.

Once we have sent the request, customers will receive email from Apple in which you will inform us of the status of the return request. If the purchase is for coins in a game and we’ve spent them, we may already forget to request a refund.
