IPad Pro trackpad

If we listen to rumors, Apps may unveil the new iPad Pro keyboard that will include a trackpad, such as MacBook Air and Pro. Does this mean another step towards IP Pro proximity to Mac? While many emphasize this need, it is absurd, and I doubt that Apple is contributing to its plans.
