We have had MIUI 12 a few weeks since Xiaomi introduced its new version of the custom layer. It is currently only available in China, but other products are already available, such as that of Xiaomi.eu. And this is what we did: tested MIUI 12 on the latest available Xiaomi Mi Note 10 ROM. The feelings are so good.
The update cycle is a never-ending process: it is enough for mobiles to be updated so that Google can start testing a new version of Android. Not only that, manufacturers are also updating their phones with their software, called the & # 39; layer & # 39; MIUI is one of the most popular and one of the most expressive of each new version. We have already confirmed: MIUI 12 hacking is a well-known experience, especially with graphics and privacy; in addition to the emphasis placed on almost every aspect of the coat.
Not a great deal of beauty, but it's famous
The cell phone that we used as the basis for this text is the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 or Xiaomi CC9 Pro, which is its name in China. Prior to installing MIUI 12, after the proper bootloader launch, the phone had a solid Global RM ROM with MIUI 11 based on Android 9. To update it we used the latest appropriate ROM from Xiaomi.eu, a Chinese beta compatibility which a Software cleaning and almost complete translation of menus, including Spanish (great team work). The result is a portable mobile phone that we have not detected any errors, at least within two days of having the ROM.
After the installation process, which always involves some risk (we had to make a few mistakes on the phone because MIUI 12 refused to start the first time), the system works much better than we expected. It is well-suited for global use thanks to Xiaomi.eu's extensive functionality and Google's integrated services and applications: the phone has been flooded with MIUI 12, since its launch.
Pure aesthetic with no reputation, photos that jump between apps, open or open menus are also appreciated: these photos are longer than MIUI 11, but also much faster. Carrying the phone is a little visual.
MIUI 12 Quick Settings works in & # 39; Control Center & # 39 ;, large management buttons with important information at a glance, such as WiFi, data and Bluetooth. No doubt: Xiaomi has inspired iOS for its new control center, but the fact is that it looks good. The icons are either automatically large, or they can be customized (and in order).
The aesthetic aspect is more minimalist, more modern and more refined
Black mode comes in with MIUI 12: m ore clunky, is used in all applications (even if it doesn't have a dark theme, and sometimes bad effects), background image can be adjusted for brightness and contrast and font size The effect is not much better than MIUI 11, but the product effort is appreciated in the overall layer integrity
All installed apps receive beauty enhancements to suit MIUI style 12. From weather app launcher: the style is very modern, creative and, as we mentioned before, loaded with pictures. The great emergence cannot be thanked, but the very great refinement of the image is evident.
Spy on all the apps it does
If the aesthetic is noticeable without wasting it, the opposite is done in private: MIUI 12 monitors all requests that it transmits to the user. And all is not a statement: there is rarely a time when, when you turn on the screen, no notifications appear to indicate that this program or application is accessing your contacts or being turned off at that time. The layer allows you to keep track of everything that has happened on the phone. It's something called & # 39; a behavioral App & # 39; or application performance.
A new section called & # 39; Protect ing the privacy allows you to manage all of the applications and how they use our information. Status permissions to know which applications access them, may have associated high-risk alerts with the app, a complete access record, use the same permissions to protect malicious software
In addition to registration, permissions and alert notifications, MIUI 12 allows to protect device identities thanks to Virtual ID, a false identity that hides the realities in the programs. It is a good privacy step that should protect one of the most essential applications for tracking users, device ID.
Sliding windows and touch interrupts the app
The interface came from aesthetics and animations, as we mentioned earlier. And MIUI 12 isn't the only one in the graphic field since it took advantage multiply the probability of many thanks for the new option for boiling windows. They can be created from the & # 39; Opening windows & # 39; in the apps menu that is finally opened (or from the icon when the app is hosted in the last apps menu), and by dropping notifications. This last method is not easy to do, it takes a lot of practice to get it out. Of course, only floating app is allowed.
MIUI 12 maintains the Android 10 body movement without providing standard back up, start buttons and latest open apps. With the use of the body we can manage the whole system. Also jump between apps that make & # 39; U & # 39; from the bottom of the screen. It is a very useful gesture that, when done indoors, greatly facilitates the use of the cape.
Customizing the MIUI 12 default launcher comes with many different options. And a version of & # 39; Lite & # 39;
The display feels more mature, and more complete. MIUI 12 updates the launcher, including the default app drawer, allows you to customize the specified drawer back or desktop icons size, for example. In addition, MIUI 12 features a & # 39; Lite & # 39; launcher type for those who want a basic look of your phone. One crawler said it offers bigger icons and more readability.
MIUI 12: rejuvenation that looks and feels great
We really wanted to try the MIUI 12 and the fact was that we weren't disappointed: the new interface looks more attractive, and more appealing to the eye and more fun. After all, and as we will always communicate with the phone, how much less This looks great, is customizable and includes many additional options. Yes, the MIUI 12 meets all these facilities. And it's going on.
The experience using MIUI 12 compared to MIUI 11 is already somehow limited, and impressive. With the version jump we saw lower battery usage, though it's certainly not limited to a backdrop: finally having Android 10 on the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is a joy (Xiaomi hasn't officially launched it yet). And excellent privacy control puts the cherry on top of a program that allows itself to be treated deeper than the default Android offering. All though it is confusing to use it completely to control the privacy you said.
If you think MIUI 12 is still in beta, and that the test was done on an unofficial ROMthe firmware is converted via Xiaomi.eu), the feelings couldn't be better. You can see Xiaomi's excellent work on her cape, and also the effort being put in secret. Now all that remains is to reach mobile goods in a sustainable way, starting with China. And for the rest of the world: May 19 follows MIUI's chosen day for reveals version 12 worldwide.
