Over time, the number of photos we can save in our photo library can be enormous. Among all the content we have a few ways to deliver an order, such as albums, keepsakes or tags and keywordsBut there is a solution that still requires a little dedication on our part: smart albums.
Albums and smart albums
By following a photo library, we can create albums, and collect all the photos we deem appropriate under the "one" name. It's a very effective method, but, on the other hand, it requires our manual intervention and subsequent care content.
In the case of smart albums, even though they share names, we find a very different picture editing system, which is based on rules. Of course what we do when we create a brilliant album, without giving it a name, explain some rules so that among all the pictures in our newsletters include the ones that are associated with it
It's important to remember that albums are smart only available on Mac, both in its creation and in the fact that it doesn't sync with our iPhone or iPad, even though we have some things to work on.
How to create a smart album on Pictures
Let's take a look at how to build a smart album on Pictures. The steps are very simple:
- We open the app Pictures on our Mac.
- On the menu Archive we choose A brilliant new album.
- We give her name.
- We explain the rules.
- We're pressing Agree.
Now, by the rules he gives to speak for a while. There are many things to keep in mind. First, all the rules are the same a three-dimensional structure. The first part is where we choose something that will follow the law, for example Pictures, Opening, Capture date, File name, Purpose either ISO. The second part is where we choose the terms by /
With these three things we can write immaturityLet's list some examples to get an idea:
- (Person) (excluding) (Name): Photos where someone doesn't appear.
- (Capture date) (average) (day) and (day): Photos taken at a specific time, for example all of a particular year or of a particular trip.
- (Lens) (insert) (6.0-60.0mm): The pictures were taken for a specific purpose.
- (Photo) (not / are) (tagged with GPS): All photos with no geotagging.
And the list of examples can go on and on. But there is more: we can combine the rules. By tapping the "+" button to the right of any rule we can add more. At the top, we can also choose to include overlapping objects everything
In addition, these albums will be updated every time we add content to a photo library. This process takes place without our intervention and we will always keep the albums updated according to the rules we have defined. What about time? In this case we have little, or useful resources. If a smart album we create we see as a static can, when it's built, Drag all content into an "Normal" album. Photo-style albums go with the powerful elements of smart albums, so once we get to them to select content, we can transfer you to an album (without genius) that will sync with all of our devices.
Without a doubt, smart albums are a great source for ordering and categorizing images on our Mac. By combining enough rules we can include almost any group of images we have in our photo library. And will they have access to the iPhone or iPad? Of course, for now let's wait for WWDC 2020, there may be issues.
