Fast charging was born out of the problem of restricted batteries for mobiles a few years ago. Since it is not possible to offer great independence at the right size and weight, being able to travel 100% as fast as possible has become one of many goals. The new Quickcharge 3+ promises to move forward.
One of the most widespread programs is Qualcomm, known as Qualcomm Quickcharge. The processor manufacturer today has created four generations of fast cases, and the new product comes with a confusing name.
Qualcomm Announces Newch New 3+?
Today there are 5 new charging technologies introduced by Qualcomm on the market. The first generation came in 2013, the second in 2014, Quickcharge in 2016, and Quickcharge 4 in late 2016, which will soon be developed by Quickcharge 4+ in 2017.
After several years without introducing any new fast charging systems, Qualcomm was expected to announce Quickcharge 5 soon, but the company had other plans:
Leaving aside the joke about the worst choices in the name (none of which give the impression of being a new 2020 technology) we are facing a new charging system capable of charging from 0 to 50% battery in just 15 minutes, to be 35% faster while heating 9 degrees.
Charge faster, better temperatures and backwards compatibility.
In terms of charging specifications, Quickcharge 3+ operates at 20 Volts and 3 Amps, leading to a total of 60 watts, ranking among the fastest chargers on the market. In contrast to Quickcharge 4 and 4+ running only on USB C, Quickcharge 3+ allows the use of USB A and C chargers, provided that the back-up rate is consistent with previous faster charges, so you won't have to give up your old ones chargers (although they take advantage of the new speed when you need a new charger).
Qualcomm has confirmed that the first mobile phone to install Quickcharge 3+ will be Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom, a mobile device we have not known yet and, given the recent Xiaomi launch, it is likely the international version of Xiaomi Mi 10th Edition presented a few hours ago.
Qualcomm's newest charging system is first compatible with Snapdragon 765 and 765G processors, and will be available on many devices throughout the year.
