Counterpoint Research has released another of its reports with estimated sales figures, and this time it’s the Apple Watch. According to these estimates, 4 in 10 smartwatches sold globally in Q4 2020 were from Apple.
In absolute numbers, we would be talking about 12.9 million units of the watch sold, a 19% increase over one year
Apple Watch SE, responsible for sales success
The Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE were the best-selling watches, but most importantly the SE model was the main culprit of this increase in sales. Although it does not have all the features of the 6 Series, its low price has caught the attention of consumers.
Even by combining Samsung, Huawei, Fitbit and BBK, the rest of the brands with a good market share, it is possible to exceed the 40% that Apple has managed to amass. And this is good news for the people of Cupertino, because behind every Apple Watch there is an Android user who could have upgraded to iOS.
