Samsung is currently strengthening a strategy that started last year. With the redesign of the Galaxy A as a mid-range installation, the company has increased its performance without increasing prices.
Throughout 2019 we have seen the Galaxy A50 or A70 perform well, and by 2020 we have new models in place, which were among the best sellers in the past year.
In recent weeks we have been able to analyze Samsung Galaxy A51, which will follow one of the most-researched and widely-publicized calls by users in 2019.

A classic and fun design
The first thing that attracted my attention was when I took my cell phone out of their box the color The front is black, but the unit we tested has a bright blue area, which can show a rainbow when given light. The metal frame is also blue, though a slightly different shade.
It's a fun and new color, which brings something different to what we often see in manufacturers' catalogs.
In addition, we are dealing with mobile full size content considering it has a 6.5 inch screen. This is thanks to its very small frame, and the feeling of being the entire screen is replaced by the front compartment, which is positioned in the smallest embankment on the middle section.
We said the frames were small and contained, and this is true even below, something that is up to date for high maintenance. The mid-range always had a great seat, but that's not the case.
Of course, we should emphasize that the back of the cell phone is not glass, but plastic, although the touch is really nice, and this doesn't seem to be a problem. In this area is a camera set, with four sensors, coupled with an LED lamp.
In the lower part of the perimeter metal frame we have a speaker (there is only one and it is easily covered), a USB C charging port and a headphone jack.
It's mobile free, doesn't feel heavy and doesn't bother to have much time available. As for ergonomics and design, we have no complaints.
Samsung Galaxy A51 performance needs improvement
While testing the Galaxy A50 we said the performance was good for its price and that most users would have no problems. That happened again on the A51, which uses Exynos 9611. The problem is that Users who want more will see how power sometimes fails.
This happened to me playing with Honkai Impact Third, something I didn't expect since the A10 I had no problems. It is most likely due to the increased screen resolution, but it is still difficult to be disappointed.
The same goes for RAM, which is only 4 GB, a figure that in the range of 300 euros should not be seen. Internal memory is enough for 128 GB and we can expand it using microSD.
This slot doesn't eliminate the ability to use two phone cards at the same time as we have dual SIM and MicroSD in triplicate.
Fingerprint sensor works but not immediately. It makes sense that Samsung wants to put it at the bottom of the screen with a model like this, but it should improve its performance to match that of brands like Huawei, OnePlus or realme.
In the connectivity section we have blue 5, FM radio, NFC, Wifi … Wifi connection is made in two bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, as expected in this mobile. However, we do not reach the statistics we have seen at institutions such as the A90. We stayed 230 mbps down and 250 high on the 600 network.
Excellent middle grade screen
Samsung is probably the maker of the best screens in the world. And on the Galaxy A51 he wanted to prove it. We have a SuperAMOLED panel that is 6.5 inches and 405 dpi at a rate of over 87% on screen / front.
This is especially noteworthy when we hold hands it gives the impression that it's mobile on a large screen and at the same time the content is sized. The remainder is what we mean that only Samsung can do.
Panel level is good, colors are well behaved, adjustment is adequate and brightness is not an issue even without. In addition, although the edges are slightly curved with 2.5D crystals they do not have curved screens as in the upper-level channels and many do not like them.
Four cameras, suffered at night
When Samsung introduced the A51 with four rear cameras I thought that working in multiple ways would not be a problem for this mobile. In addition to the main sensor, 48 Mpx, we had a wide corner of 12 Mpx, depth sensor and macro.
Photos by wide range I loved it in a beautiful light. They are surprisingly and more satisfying than the actual offer, but they are a Samsung brand and they do not do as much as you will see in the gallery.
There is not a lot of noise in good light but the detail is not too high if we can expand it as the solution, without being too high, is not as high as we would like.
He the primary sensor It gives slightly warmer, cooler and more sensual tones. There is no longer a balance between the color management of all the senses, something other brands have begun to fix.
Shadow control, HDR, dynamic range, all seem to be well-read and anyone can say that this mobile makes great images. No more
Sensor macro It gives us some high resolution in some models, 5 Mpx, and it's appreciated. Photos can be amazing if you get close enough.
Forward We have one sensor but with Samsung's default it interrupts us so we can use the group photo option to get the maximum angle. Of course, from the same point, the show doesn't have to be taken the same way, or that has been apparent to me in the exams I've done.
When the light falls the quality suffers greatly, especially at the wide angle. In this category of camera there are competitors from other types who respond better. Besides, it's not a bad result for the average user to feel disappointed, but considering the value of this model, night images should be better.
The video recording This mobile is beautiful. Stability is normal, but it has a compelling option and produces very successful videos. Of course, at low light it's best to record mathematically, without having to walk or go.
Here I was amazed at the speed with which it is spoken of moving from a shady place to a light place, exactly, as you can see in the restaurant video, inside the gallery.
If we want record with the front camera we can do as long as we don't go, panic shows a lot. Bypassing is that, image quality, colors and details are good. Samsung has taken the jump in this category.
Large battery which is not surprising
We are very specific to the Galaxy A50 in this review and the reason is clear: they look good and bad. Also in the battery category. 4000 mAh with a quick 15 W charge for the Samsung Galaxy A51 is good on paper and doesn't leave us sleeping in the middle of the day, but don't reach the independence levels of other models by those calculations.
To first battery test We've been playing a lot, in addition to listening to live music and podcasts, both using wireless headphones. We reached 5 hours of screen time with 20 hours of independence.
To second battery test We played, but we also went out to take pictures and videos, and while listening to music. We reached 5 hours of screen time with 24 hours of independence.
To third battery test We got the same result, by becoming so. We reached 5 hours of screen time with 24 hours of independence.
One UI 2 should have a vote
Samsung Galaxy A51 is Samsung's first mobile phone to test with Android 10 and One UI 2. If you're curious about the details of this interaction I refer you to a review we did a few months ago.
On the A51 I liked features such as face recognition, which is very fast and easy to lift on a table, without having to turn the screen off.
The best and best looking option is something we don't know and although I didn't like the way it counts the hours of screen time we have per load, I can see it's not a problem for the average user.
What I liked most about this feature is that there are pre-installed apps that can be removed. And I don't mean those apps, or apps like Samsung Pay, but some do like Facebook, really? Can't I delete one of the most controversial apps in history? Samsung's wrong move, the worst move.
In addition, program response is not always fast and searches within settings take longer than usual. It's something that can be solved with software updates, but the company should provide this first.
Samsung should not sleep
If anyone asks me if it's okay to buy a Samsung Galaxy A51 can they say it. It is true that there are cheaper models for better performance on paper, but we must not underestimate what people value for a particular product.
Samsung is heavily influenced by Chinese brands such as OPPO and Xiaomi, and with Global A it has the option to offer its users strong pricing options and attractive features.
The great thing about this model is its screen, its design and the fact that most can work as a cell phone for anyone. The problem is performance seems to be burdened when we want more and the camera, at least at night, is active.
It has already come down in price and instead of the 369 euros that continue to sell we can buy it in other stores for more than 330 euros.
