Apple has made a deal with Sony to bring the Dark Matter book to Apple TV + in serial format, according to Collider. This book, written by Blake Crouch is also behind Rebel pines, a book that became a 2-season series in 2016.
Dark Material tells the story of Jason Dessen, a family man who works as a professor at the university. One night, while walking home, he is kidnapped by a stranger who drugs him. When he gets up he checks how he finds himself in a completely different world from the one he knew.
Sony, who bought the rights to the book for $ 1.25 million in 2014 before it was written, will be in charge of the production of this new series. One of the producers will be Matt Tolmach, the same producer of the movie Venom.
Dark Matter was a bestseller that has been translated into 35 languages and was selected as one of the best books on Amazon and National Public Radio (NPR) in 2016. That same year, Ronald Emerich considered making a movie based on the book, as reported by Deadline.
