With a brief image, Huawei announced on Weibo the date on which we will meet its first foldable mobile of the year: the Huawei mate x2. This terminal will be Huawei’s third foldable, after the original Huawei Mate X and the improved sequel, the Huawei Mate XS.
Huawei has not yet revealed any confirmed configuration of the Huawei Mate X2, although fortunately there is not much left to get out of doubts: the presentation will take place February 22
Folding inward (maybe)
If anything tells us the image accompanying the invitation, it’s that the Huawei Mate X2 possibly bend inwards. It’s the same path Samsung has taken in its Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, but Huawei has gone a different path in its Huawei Mate X: a single screen that unfolds.
It was, in fact, one of the few rumors that have been ringing these days about the Huawei Mate X2, which is somehow confirmed by the image which, we speculate, represents the device half open. , with one of its hinges in view. . When folded in this way, it should include a second screen to be able to use it folded.
According to the leaks, the Huawei Mate X2 could have a 8.01 inch foldable main screen and 2480 x 2220 resolution and a 6.45-inch secondary display with 2270 x 1160 resolution. Inside you’d expect the Kirin 9000 5G to be found.
Of its cameras, a 16-megapixel front camera and a rear quad camera: 50 MP + 16 MP + 12 MP + 8 MP, with a possible 10X hybrid zoom. Its possible passage through the TENAA certifier even leaves us its dimensions: 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2 mm and a weight of 295 grams.
At the moment, there is nothing confirmed, but we won’t have to wait too long to find out. The appointment is February 22 at an unspecified time yet. There are 19 days left for the first folding of 2021.
