The Google Play Store is a well-known Android app store, but there are alternatives to Google Play that we should pay attention to. One of these is Uptodown, the native of Spain – whose headquarters are in Malaga – and millions of downloads annually.

First, and with the biggest difference in terms of their followers, we find Snaptube, a dangerous app to download videos on YouTube. Over 461 million downloads put you first, followed in the top 3 of WhatsApp and VidMate, another application for downloading videos on YouTube.
The same purpose has other apps listed as TubeMate or TubeMate 3, something that makes sense when we see that Google Play apps of this type are not available. Also, among Uptodown's most downloaded applications I couldn't miss Facebook and Instagram, confirming the strength of its market.

As for the games, the most downloaded list doesn't have many surprises. PUBG Mobile has dominated nearly 69 million downloads, closely followed by the Free Fire and Clash of Clans. From Uptodown they highlighted the success of Call of Duty Mobile, which broke the most downloaded game record during its first 24 hours with 430,000 downloads.
Usually, Uptodown users visit the app store Samsung devices (40%), followed by Huawei (10.7%), Xiaomi (5.37%) and Motorola (4.9%). Speaking of Android, 14.30% of users have a version of Android 8.1.0, while 12% use Uptodown with Android 9.
There is less competition in web browsers used to access the app store. 67.90% of users do so with Google Chrome, leaving the second place for Samsung Internet (8.18%). After 17 years of living, leaving Uptodown ensures they continue to work towards their goals: democratize access to applications making them accessible to any location or any service.
