This year we will have 4 different iPhone 13 models again, and all of them will have Apple’s new A15 Bionic processor. Now, a new report guarantees that TSMC, Apple’s processor maker, has already started manufacturing the next generation iPhone processors.
Apple supplier TSMC has officially started production of Apple’s upcoming A15 Bionic chip for its iPhone 13 line this year, which is expected to arrive in September. According to a new report from DigiTimes
The A14 Bionic processor was first announced for the iPad Air, then made its way to the iPhone 12, and it was Apple’s first processor to be manufactured using a 5-step process. nm. the The A15 Bionic chip will continue to be based on this 5nm process, although it will use an improved version that will provide better performance and greater fuel efficiency. We’ll see if it’s also introduced in a supposed new iPad Air 2021.
What’s new with iPhone 13
One of the The main improvements of the iPhone 13 will be the A13 Bionic chipHowever, this year it looks like the improvement in terms of processor will not be overstated. Apple has reached very high levels in terms of power, and the next big leap will come in 2022 when it drops to 3nm.
However, we will see other important new features in the iPhone 13 lineup:
- A small notch. After many years, Apple will reduce the size of the notch with the new Face ID sensors.
- New LTPO display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Apple will start using this new screen technology which allows the screen refresh rate to be varied between 1 and 120 Hz.
- New larger camera module. It looks like the iPhone will have a larger camera module as the sensors will improve dramatically.
- Up to 1TB capacity. This is an interesting option, which would double the current maximum storage.
The iPhone 13 is expected by the end of the year, although this time around we won’t see a delay like the one we saw last year with the iPhone 12. Throughout September, Apple will present its new iPhone with the A13 Bionic chip, maybe with a new color.
