As we prepare for an Apple event that will likely take place on March 23, new signs keep appearing that make us think the arrival of the new headphones AirPods 3 that would be on Apple’s agenda the next day.
We have the first sign that this weekend Apple announced it is dropping the original HomePod in exchange for focusing on the evolution of the HomePod mini, the $ 99 version of its smart speaker.
The move would reinforce the idea that Apple is polishing its audio line and making room in its stores for the arrival of new audio products before its final launch, which could take place as early as next week.
The second intuition is linked to the appearance of images on the net which show the next generation of AirPods. These images, posted by the Chinese site 52audio, show a design reminiscent of the current AirPods Pro, but without the silicone part.
This site describes the new generation with a “semi-button design, combining some features of AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro”. The main difference seems to be that the stem is slightly longer than on AirPods Pro, but significantly shorter than current AirPods.
The third signal is Apple’s new video promoting AirPods Pro. Here’s a new ad titled “Jump”, which highlights features like Active Cancel Mode (which allows for external noise cancellation).
Currently, only AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro Max users benefit from this feature.
A February report hinted that the new AirPods 3 may adopt active noise cancellation, a supported feature.
So, everything indicates that Apple’s wireless earbuds, known as AirPods 3, would be among the products leading the brand’s most imminent launches that would arrive on March 23. Soon we will be able to get out of the doubts.
In the meantime, you can check what can we expect from the spring Apple event. All Apple products arrive in March from 2021.
