As AirTags continue to reach early customers, there are others who have already had the time to thoroughly study these new item location tags and how they work. So much so that they discovered, to everyone’s surprise, a new development menu for the precise location function.
A menu with more details than imagined
The precise location feature is what allows us that, if we have an iPhone with a U1 chip, we can receive precise directions to the AirTag that we are looking for. A most curious, useful and, above all, precise system which, with what we know so far, hides many more surprises than it seems
As we see in the following video, this menu gives us access to hidden information, such as the tilt of the device, distance to the ground and also information about chaotic responses. This also allows us to choose the number of points that are used to represent the location and we offers “Eco Mode” with lower image resolution

Along with these variables there are several indicators which together with the sliders on the right side allow us to vary the values and therefore modify the behavior of the AirTag location. We can also modify the appearance, saturation, brightness and other characteristics of the representation. Accessing this menu is as simple as accessing Pinpoint mode and touch the AirTag name five times in a row
We do not know in which versions of iOS we can access this menu. For this article, I was able to check its availability on an iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14.6 beta 3. In Reddit, where the find was reflected, they don’t refer to the specific device they made it with. Curios like these allow us to see the dedication that all the values and variables of a function, seemingly so simple, demand from the Cupertino teams.
