During this year’s second quarter fiscal year earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook was consulted on various topics regarding the future of devices and services with the bitten Apple logo. In this sense, one of the great unknowns remains around the the performance of its streaming platform, Apple TV +.
As usual no figures have been released regarding the number of current subscribers to the service. Cook declined to provide specific numbers, but said “Apple TV +” was doing “very well” and Apple felt “really good” about “Apple TV +”.
Apple is happy with Apple TV + results
In response to one of the most frequently asked questions about the service, the CEO of Apple took it upon himself to recall the success of the platform, despite its limited catalog compared to other similar services. And among them, the list of awards and nominations that some of their programs got just a few weeks ago.
“To date, Apple Originals has received 352 award nominations and 98 wins. We have shows that have made a lot of noise like Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Defending Jacob, etc. We feel very good where we are. We will not publish subscriber numbers.
“Apple TV + is doing very well, as we know the goal and philosophy of Apple TV + is to create original high quality content and to be one of the platforms most sought after by storytellers . I see it happening day by day, we have more programs, more storytellers.
Apple has repeatedly extended the free trial months for users of the service with new devices. Therefore, doubt about the number of actual users persists among industry watchers. But internally, the commitment to offer quality products continues, perhaps with a strategy in hand, to finally make this service profitable.
