If you want to know what Apple Watch model you have, know if your watch has a feature, or because you want to update software or you want to sell it, we help you in this article find the right generation.
Check the back of your watch
First of all, the easiest way to make sure your Apple Watch generation is to slide backwards. Turn your watch around and you'll see a few words around the sensors, including size, video type, usage and series.
Almost the entire Apple Watch series includes the series behind it, except for the first generation (image shown below).
On the back of other Apple Watch you'll see 7000 Series names. If you think the 7000 Series is the Apple Watch of the future, you'll be disappointed, because the 7000 Series only refers to the aluminum range of the materials used.
This aluminum was used for first-generation Apple Watch watches, Series 1 and Series 2. If you see the 7000 Series screen printed on your watch, your watch may be the first-generation Apple Watch.
Find an example number for your Apple Watch
One way to make sure which Apple Watch generation you have is to look at the model number. You can find it when you search for the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. We show you here how to do it:
Note: previously, you should have paired your watch with the iPhone app with this functionality.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Scroll to & # 39; General & # 39;
- Click & # 39; Info & # 39;
- Take a look at Model & # 39; Click on it and you'll see that the screen changes to show the model number that will start with A. In our case the A1889.
You will also find the serial number of your watch in this section.
If you didn't have a clock paired with your iPhone, or don't have an iPhone in hand, you can find out what the Apple Watch has when you look back on your watch (as we've previously shown).
After that, separate the details.

What is the size of my Apple Watch?
Another thing you might want to know is the size of the Apple Watch. Useful information when it turns out that you are planning to get new strips for your watch, because you will need to know the clock face size.
For every generation used, Apple has been producing two different sizes of its smartwatch. When the first Apple Watch was introduced, it had a choice of 38mm face and 42mm clock face.
With the advent of Series 4, Apple has increased the screen size of the clock, though it hasn't made it much bigger than it currently is, because it has been able to reduce the bezels around the screen.
You probably don't want to take out the ruler and try to scale the screen to guess it, but if you're thinking of doing it, you have to scale the diagonal.
The easiest way to find a screen size is to look at the back of the clock, as we've shown. In our case, 38 mm.
Speaking of screens, the easiest way to get a rough idea of what Watch generation you have is to look at your face while having an open picture. If there is a border around the image, you may have a Series 3 or a front clock.
If the edges you see around the picture turn out to be damaged, then you have in your hands a model either of the Series 4 or Series 5.
How old is my Apple Watch?
Once we have determined which Apple Watch model you have, you may be wondering when it was first sold. They may have given you a clock for Christmas or your birthday and you may have a limited idea of their age. But there is nothing.
- April 2015 – First generation Apple Watch (Series 0) – discontinued in 2016
- September 2016 – Apple Watch Series 1 – discontinued in 2017
- September 2016 – Apple Watch Series 2 – discontinued in 2017
- September 2017 – Apple Watch Series 3 – is still on sale
- September 2018 – Apple Watch Series 4 – is discontinued in 2019
- September 2019 – Apple Watch Series 5 – is still on sale
Remember that previous generations of Apple Watch continue to sell even after Apple introduced a new generation. So, it's possible that if you bought an Apple watch in 2019, it could come from either Series 5 or one in Series 3.

Is my Apple Watch waterproof?
Apple introduced a 50-foot water resistance feature with the Apple Watch Series 2. Prior to this, the Apple Watch was simply "insecure."
Remember that water resistance is not the same as water resistance. It does not mean you can conduct an open sea consent session with your Apple Watch. But it should be enough to wash the clock at home (as long as you don't wash it with shampoo).
When your watch is wet, you should wash it with tap water and dry it. Apple notes that its clock will be less water resistant over time, especially if you keep it full of water.
Does my Apple Watch have eSIM or cellular connection?
If you have an Apple Watch Series 3 or later, you may have a cell phone (the ability to make calls, receive messages, etc., without having your iPhone). However, you will need a contract on a portable network for its services.
If your Apple Watch has cellular connectivity, you will find that the digital crown of the clock has a large red dot on the crown or a round ring is also red.
The Apple Watch Cellular version has a slightly higher price than the Wifi model, usually about € 100 more than the standard version. In addition, you should take into account the additional cost of the contract or the repetition card service.
In my country, we are both Telefonica as Orange and Vodafone they all have the option of tying an agreement with the Apple Watch so that your wrist can be a dedicated phone or duplicate of your mobile iPhone.
