Yesterday was Apple's betas day. Introducing new betas for firmwares on all company devices. Developers can simply download and test it before leaving it closed and being the final versions of all users.
They go very well because in them we already see new enhancements installing them, days before they become official. IOS and iPadOS 14.4 beta 2 bring some exciting news. Let's take a look at what these new betas bring us.
In the first beta version, Apple added a new email toolbar, Cloud File Sharing, a new Memojis and announced the next global support for iOS and Mac applications. In this beta version there is an updated version of the TV program, a fix in the toolbar, and new CarKey activity data that Apple has in development.
TV settings
Apple has updated the TV program settings on the iPhone and iPad, adding more options for controlling downloads and data transfers. There are options to use cellular data for transfer or download, with those options automatically disabled. Those users with an unlimited data plan will be able to change these settings so that they can watch the content of the TV program on their iPhones when using the LTE network.
There are also options to stream "Data Saver" video or "high quality" video over Wi-Fi or LTE. With the "Data saver" option, data usage is limited to 600 MB per hour. There are also options for fast, or high quality, slow downloads.
Under this new configuration, standard Siri options, search and notifications are available, as well as sports display buttons, use game history and video description, all of which were previously available.
Toolbar
Apple has already updated the toolbar in the first beta version, and now it's back. The updated toolbar removes the flag icon in the previous beta version, and adds the compose button to the right, moving the answer button to the center point.
CarKey
Apple is working on a new CarKey feature designed to allow the iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock, bind and lock NFC-compatible vehicles. Since it's available in the first beta, CarKey's digital keys can be shared with other users, but in this second beta it's guaranteed that the keys can be sent to other people via messages. People to whom CarKey is sent can use that digital key to access the vehicle enabled with this system of owner issuing an access code.
This is news received from betas released yesterday on both iOS and iPadOS 13.4 beta 2.
