Ontario worker Hassan Awan claims to have been scammed into buying an iPhone 12 Pro Max. He wanted to trade in his old iPhone 6 for a new iPhone 12 Pro Max and decided to use Facebook Marketplace after his phone company told him he would have to wait several weeks.
He found a rather interesting ad for an iPhone 12 Pro Max like the one he wanted, made a deal with the seller, 1600 Canadian dollars, approximately 1000 dollars
I saw the phone. I opened the box and removed the plastic myself. He was fine, it looked like he was the first to open the phone. It was new “
You need to check everything several times before buying a used iPhone
The first thing Hassan Awan did before donating money was turn on iPhone 12 Pro Max to check if it was true. However, I had no battery so he checked the serial number on Apple’s website.
“ I entered the code on Apple’s cover site and it appeared as an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which was supported year round. It was what I was looking for ”
Seeing that everything seemed correct, Hassan transferred the money to the person who sold him the iPhone 12 and brought it home. He plugged it into the charger and started the data transfer process.
“I was very excited. It lit up and the boot process was very similar from start to finish since you got a new iPhone.” Everything is fine”
However, after playing with the phone for a few hours, he realized one little thing that made him completely angry and disillusioned: there was a google play store icon.
“I saw an icon for Google Play Store. Google Play Store is only available for Android phones. The iPhone is not compatible with the Google Play Store. It’s an Android phone, it’s not made by Apple ”
A Hassan he had been tricked with a replica of an iPhone 12 Pro Max. These replicas are more common than they appear, and physically they can become very similar if you don’t have another iPhone next to you to compare.
