It’s hard to make this list without mentioning Super Meat Boy. The title was developed by by in 2010 Team meat, then consisting of Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen (also known for the now legendary Binding of Isaac). It needs its references to the king of the genre to be meaningful: Super Mario Bros. The game consists of different arrays in which the player must skilfully jump between recorders, creatures and peaks in order to save his soulmate.
