After the failure of WWE 2K20, both critical and commercial, 2K reacted, initially canceling its new version WWE 2K21, even if the decision was also taken because of the pandemic. 2K wanted to speak to speak about its license, and will hurt children!

At the same time as he announced a new title, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, an arcade title which seems very pronounced, the editor also wanted to come back to the rat WWE 2K20, in the form of an open letter, which we reproduce below:
We have heard your feedback. We thank you and we continue to listen to you carefully. Since launch, we've released five updates, fixed hundreds of reported issues, and brought four WWE 2K20 Originals expansions to discover for an even richer gaming experience. We have also heard your requests to maintain WWE 2K19 servers; they will remain active for the time being.
That said, we understand you and we know you want more from the franchise, so here's what we're going to do: we're going to apply what we learned to the next WWE 2K simulator game by putting a dot honor to improve quality and fun. As part of this commitment, we will extend the production schedule and we will not release any WWE 2K simulation game in 2020 (fiscal year N-1 2021). We want to make sure that the development team at Visual Concepts can create a great game that will delight WWE 2K veterans as well as newcomers who want to be in the ring for the very first time.
We have recruited Patrick Gilmore to help us as Executive Producer and direct these efforts at Visual Concepts. Patrick has more than 25 years of experience in the video game world, an experience that goes back to Disney's Aladdin game on Sega Mega Drive. He has worked on licenses such as Killer Instinct, Medal of Honor, and more recently New World from Amazon. He will oversee the development of WWE 2K, and you will be hearing from him and his team in the months to come.
We hope this news delights you as much as we do. We are confident that the games will see their quality further improved in the future.
Well, following the next episode, children!
