What is The Lions Song about?
Genre: Point&Click-Adventure | Developer: Mi’pu’mi Games | Platform: PC, Mac | Release: July 7, 2016
In Austria in the early 20th century, which is facing major political and social upheavals, you play four story episodes and each take on the role of a brilliant artist or scientist. All fight a “personal battle for creativity, human relationships and inspiration”.
Episode 1 – The composer: Episode 1 is about the talented music student Wilma, who struggles with writer’s block before her first big concert. Her professor sends her to a lonely mountain hut, where she should find peace, relaxation and hopefully her creativity again.
Episode 2 – The Painter: The talented visual artist Franz wants to immortalize his name in the art scene in episode 2 and can build on his ability to recognize weaknesses and fears of people in order to perpetuate them in his art. He depicts “very illustrious figures in Viennese society” and you as a player accompany him.
Episode 3 – Die Mathematikerin:
Episode 4 – The Writer: In the fourth and final episode, all the stories come together. Now a new perspective on the events should open up. It also becomes clear here that all decisions made by the player ultimately have an impact.
How does it play?
As a point & click adventure of the old school, you look at sepia-colored scenes, move through the drawn levels and choose from various dialogue options in conversations. The Lion’s Song relies heavily on atmospheric action and plays very slowly.

Who is the game worthwhile for?
Fans of old adventures like Monkey Island or newer offshoots like Deponia might like the gameplay of The Lion’s Song. But without all the humor, because the new epic present puts on a very melancholy record.
If you are also interested in history, art, culture and psychology, you will certainly get your money’s worth. The Lion’s Song even includes a guest appearance by the famous psychologist and founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud.
