Google has big plans for Android-Tablets. The surface, which is more optimized for smartphones, is being expanded to include an “entertainment space”, which is intended to enhance the user experience, explains Google Product Manager James Bender in a blog post.
The “entertainment space” is a new tab on your tablet. Here are all services with and without a subscription like Netflix
Home screen receives entertainment center
The surface is strongly reminiscent of Amazons Fire Tablets. Because here, too, there are tabs related to topics that make a selection clearer. As with the Fire Tablet, the entertainment space should offer easy access to films, series and music, as well as e-books and games.
If several people use the tablet, they can create these profiles and then receive recommendations for new content that are tailored to their needs.
The new entertainment tab will initially be available for the private label “onn.” of the US retailer Walmart rolled out. We are interested in the global start in the course of the year for other manufacturers. Above all are mentioned Lenovo and Sharp. Of Samsung is so far not mentioned.
