In an extensive interview with the US magazine Vanity Fair “The Mandalorian” producer and “Star Wars” mastermind Dave Filoni chatted that he too was the little grogu in the episode “Die Jedi“almost called baby Yoda.

The ex-Jedi played by Rosario Dawson Ahsoka Tano explains after meeting the child in episode 5 of “The Mandalorian” to his foster father Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal): “I’ve only known another being like him. A wise Jedi master named Yoda.”
Dave Filoni directed and scripted Chapter 13 of “The Mandalorian”. Regarding the said dialogue point Filoni revealed: “I had to stop myself from doing something ridiculous, like [Ahsoka] to say: ‘I only knew another being like him. Is that a Yoda baby? ‘”
