THQ Nordic has announced that the developer will handle the Gothic remake.
Previously, the company said Gothic The remake will be performed by a new studio that is being established in Barcelona, Europe. That developer is Alkimia Interactive.
After the project has received green approval, the next step is to fully establish a studio subsidiary. As a result, the studio began operations in the summer of 20202 and began to form a team that “grows” and is still looking for developers to join.
The focus and goal of the team is to build a high-quality RPG, and its first project is the full development of PC and next-generation game console replicas. The development work is progressing well, and more content about the game will be announced in the next few months.
“We are committed to building Alkimia Interactive into a first-class RPG studio,” said Reinhard Pollice, studio director of Alkimia Interactive. “Our ambition is to become one of the best solutions for PC/console core game development in southern Europe.”
In December 2019, THQ Nordic released a playable Gothic remake prototype to ask the public for their views on the possible modern remakes of the classic RPG.
Playable trailers appear in the Steam library of everyone who owns the Piranha Bytes game.
