The beta for Resident Evil Resistance should actually start on March 27th. Well, it is, but only on Xbox One. The start on the PC and the Playstation 4 were surprising postponed indefinitely.
On Twitter, Capcom gives the reason for the shift, but remains rather vague:
Due to technical issues, there is a delay for the RE Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam. The XB1 version is unaffected and is available. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as we can and will keep you updated. Apologies for the inconvenience.

"Due to technical issues, there is a delay for the RE Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam. The Xbox One version is not affected and is available. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible and will keep you posted We apologize for the inconvenience. "
The developers did not specify exactly what these "technical problems" were and why the Xbox One was spared from it.
What exactly is resistance?
Resident Evil Resistance is a asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, in which four players join together and have to fight against an overpowering opponent who is also controlled by a real player. The survivors' goal, like in Dead by Daylight, is to leave the level safely while the boss player must prevent them.
The game will be available in a bundle with Resident Evil 3 Remake, so there are no extra costs. In contrast to the recently released beta of the main game, players have not yet had the opportunity to test the mode themselves. Such a possibility should be in the face of the near future Release on April 3rd but soon surrendered to non-Xbox players too.
It remains to be seen whether it will be as well received as the single player counterpart, after all, the demo is already showered with praise from the players.
