Capcom Plans "Multiple Big Releases" Unannounced by April 2021

The Boss May 12, 2020 No Comments

We will all agree that Capcom is in very good shape. The Japanese company has put its batteries in recent years and has given us tremendous games like Devil May Cry 5 or the remakes of resident Evil. What more can we expect for the future?

In his last fiscal reportCapcom anticipates a new record of 28 million units sold across all of its games by April 2021. On the one hand, they want to reach that figure with continued game sales from previous years (such as Monster hunter world

), and on the other, with "multiple big releases" of new games we don't know yet.

Well, I'm lying, one of them is. The remake of Resident Evil 3 it is already among us and counts as one of these releases. But what will the others be? There is practically a year left until the scheduled date arrives, so Capcom still has plenty of time to announce and show its plans.

To further detail what they mean, the Japanese firm plans to launch 13 SKUs between this year and the beginning of next. What is a SKU? One launch for each console. I mean, yes Resident Evil 3 It has come out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, that would already be three SKUs.

Naturally, that does not mean that they all correspond to those multiple great titles of which they speak. Also keep in mind that they are considerably less than in previous years. For example, last year they had forecasts of 35 SKUs.

Even so, at the income level, their forecasts are historical for the months to come. What kind of games will we see in the short term? There is a lot of desire to find out.
