The Chinese Communist Party says it has decided to cancel EVE Fanfest 2020 in view of coronavirus concerns.
The studio announced on Twitter that due to growing concerns about the coronavirus, it made a difficult decision to cancel April's EVE Fanfest 2020.
The official statement said: "Given the latest global developments surrounding the transmission of COVID-19 coronavirus, we have decided to cancel this year's Fanfest event in Reykjavik, Iceland."
"We feel absolutely obliged to follow the most responsible course of action and prioritize the safety and well-being of participants, employees and, of course, the Icelandic public.
"We realize that the situation may be very different a month from now, but the way in which events are developed globally and in Iceland's neighbouring countries, after intensive and careful review, has clearly shown that this is a necessary step.
Coronavirus concerns have led many companies to withdraw from incidents such as GDC and Pax East. It also led to the cancellation of the Tapei Game Show, PUBG Global Series: Overwatch League games in Berlin and South Korea.
