The joy was great when CD Projekt RED finally announced a release date for the promising sci-fi role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 on April 16, 2020, which is known to follow the hit title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Since then, supporters have been working towards this date for months, but now that it is already within reach, the makers still hit the stomach pit.
Reason: CD Projekt is now clearly postponing the publication of the bearer of hope. The studio spoke up on Twitter and announced that instead Cyberpunk 2077 will only be available from September 17, 2019 and five months (!) Later.

In the statement, which you can see in full in the graphic above, it says that the title is complete and playable, but there is still a lot of work to be done. "Night City is massive – full of stories, content and places to visit," says CD Projekt in the person of co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio manager Adam Badowski. "But because of the sheer size and complexity of the whole, we just need more time." This should be used for fine tuning and bug fixes.
"We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement of this generation, and the postponement of the release gives us the valuable months it takes to make the game perfect."
