For a long time it had been quiet about Dying Light 2, but now there are always new information bits from the developers. The game length has now also been commented on for the first time.
This year, Dying Light 2 should finally come onto the market after many delays – and accordingly the fresh details about the zombie-seuqle are now increasing again. In conversation with WCCFTech Lead Game Designer Tymon Smektala has now spoken about the length of the game, among other things.
Accordingly, you can let off steam for quite a while in the open-world zombie game. If you want to get through the game as quickly as possible, you will still have to plan around 20 hours of playing time, according to Tymon.
If, on the other hand, you want to enjoy all the secondary content and literally sink into the game world, then this game time will at least double. According to Tymon, you should then expect 40 to 60 hours of playing time – an impressive length for single-player enjoyment.
The opening region alone should need seven to eight hours of gaming time to fully explore it. Other titles do not reach such a length for a complete round.
Incidentally, Rendering Director Tomasz Szalkowski also confirms with the same source that the last-gen consoles around PS4 and Xbox One are by no means left out. This should reassure fans who were concerned that Dying Light 2 might only appear for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. According to Szalkowski, the older generation of consoles was never neglected in the development process and should correspond to the “highest standard”. At the same time, the game on PS5 and XSX should also benefit from the many technical improvements. Among other things, there should be ray tracing and 60 fps; while the image card should be accessed via the performance mode, there is also a quality option for 4K resolution.
Beyond that, Dying Light 2 does not yet have a release date.
