Due to the pandemic, E3 2021 will be held in completely digital form. Now further details have been announced as to how this should look in concrete terms.
The big US trade fair E3 was canceled due to Corona last year. This year the event will take place aga in, but only in digital form; the move became necessary for the organizers due to the ongoing pandemic. But what exactly does a digital E3 look like? Some tangible details have now been confirmed.
The ESA organizers will be relying on two pillars in the event period from June 12th to 15th to bring the content to interested players: an online portal and a mobile app. In both cases you will get a hub on which you can view and find all content for the duration of E3 2021.
Interested parties can use this hub to visit virtual exhibition stands, watch live streams or take part in various show events. However, you will have to create an account to use the online portal or the app. You can use this to romp around in a forum and customize your avatar.
If you are not really keen to register, you can also follow the most important content on the official E3 channels on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. The hosts Greg Miller, Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez and Jacki Jing will guide the broadcasts there.
The portal opens its doors on the first day of the fair, ie June 12; Accounts should be able to be created in May. Press representatives will also be able to use the portal and the app to conduct interviews or gain access to demos.
