Electronic Arts: Plenty of new games in the works

Geralt of Sanctuary May 6, 2020 No Comments

It is once again the time of the annual financial reports after the fiscal year has ended for many publishers. At Electronic Arts there is also an outlook for the coming months.

With the conclusion of the fiscal year 2020 together with the financial report, EA gives us a little insight into what to expect in the coming months, even if the number of announcements has so far been manageable.

So far, the two remastered versions of Burnout Paradise and Command & Conquer are expected, which are expected for the first quarter of the new fiscal year, i.e. by the end of June. The usual cash cows FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 are due for the second quarter. NHL 21 seems to come a little later this year and is planned for the 3rd quarter, i.e. the period from October to December.

That's it with the previously announced titles, but there is more in a footnote. In the fiscal year 2021, a previously unannounced sports game, an EA HD title, four games from EA partners and two mobile launches are to follow. There are also extensions to other platforms (i.e. the new consoles), as well as Medal of Honor VR for Oculus.

Apart from that, EA is happy about a strong year despite relatively few titles. FIFA 20 has over 25 million players, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was also successful with over 10 million players. Apex Legends was the most downloaded free-to-play game on PS4 in 2019.
