Rockfish Games has postponed the Steam Early Access version of Everspace 2 as well as closed alpha and closed beta.
Eternal space 2 It was originally scheduled to enter Steam's Early Access in September, but it will now be available in December.
Testers have also been delayed. Now, closed betas will be launched in May and closed betas will be launched in August.
According to Rockfish, the decision was made following the cancellation of GDC 2020 due to COVID19 in March and "postponement of important business meetings with platform operators and potential co-release partners".
The company said: "Avoiding the release of two AAA sci-fi shooting games almost simultaneously is also a strategic decision, as these two AAA sci-fi shooting games are likely to cause the community and the media to overlap."
As the development team continues to work on player spacecraft design, especially on the cockpit, work on gaming continues. Players will be able to view the cockpit from a first-person perspective while still being able to know which ship they are flying. These designs are based on a specific ship or sub-category and have full-featured tools depending on the type. The status of the ship, such as the current damage or protection level, will also be displayed in the cockpit.
The studio also redesigned the Assault Fighter to a multi-wing instead of a double-wing design.
As shown in the screenshot provided, it looks like it is going well.
Everspace 2 was initially taken to Kickstarter, where 7,979 supporters pledged 503,478 euros to fund the title.
