Fallout 4 owners who are looking for some thrills can now become one of the legendary horror classics with the Mod Whispering Hills Silent Hill
The modder Mangaclub first announced its ambitious Whispering Hills project on Reddit in October 2018, since then it has been releasing new versions and now with the Release of the Definitive Edition the development is declared complete.
The final version of Whispering Hills can be downloaded from the Mod DB website. To install the mod in Fallout 4, you also need a Mod Manager such as Modorganizer2 or Vortex.
What can you expect in Whispering Hills?
The mod triggers an event in Fallout 4, which post-apocalyptic wasteland in the Silent Hill all devouring fog surfaced. This draws you into the "Otherworld", a world full of old acquaintances from the horror classic. Instead of stings and death claws, nurses, screamer and mumbler await you now.
The horror trip is completed by a new, emphatically uncanny soundtrack, which is composed of various pieces of music from Fallout and the original Silent Hill.
In addition to the opponents clearly inspired by Silent Hill, a new face appears in Whispering Hills – or rather a new head. The Sirenhead is based on the Internet horror fiction of the same name (called "Creepypasta") and is a creature over ten meters high with an obscure loudspeaker construction as a head and a skinny mummified body.
The Whispering Hills release trailer offers a foretaste of him, the setting and the atmosphere:
In case you got the taste of Silent Hill through the mod: The final Enhanced Edition Mod for Silent Hill 2 was recently released, reviving the old horror classic. The fascination for the series does not seem to have died out even after Kojima's Silent Hills has been discontinued.
