It was communicated early on that the Final Fantasy VII Remake would appear in episodes. After the start last year, the second episode was officially presented with Intergrade; Part 1 will also receive a PS5 upgrade.
The next episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be subtitled Intergrade and should be available in a few months. As part of the current edition of “State of Play” last night, the new chapter has now been confirmed for June 10, 2021 on the PS5.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade continues the events of last year’s remake, with much going to revolve around Yuffie Kisaragi, an optional cast member in Final Fantasy VII who didn’t make it into the original release of the remake. This now gets its own plot and dedicated events, which are probably set during chapter 8 of the original game. Yuffie infiltrates the Shinra Corporation to save their homeland. Among other things, there will be new characters and an expanded gameplay including new combat options.
In addition, Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade will be optimized above all for the PS5. You can choose between a performance mode with 60 fps at a 1440p resolution or 1440p at 30 fps with ray tracing. Ultimately, both modes also scale up to 4K resolution. Last but not least, the PS5 version also makes use of the haptic advantages of the DualSense controller.

A new boss fight, new arena fights, a boss select mode and the popular photo mode are also on board. Anyone who owns the Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 version free of charge. Only the new Yuffie chapter will then have to be paid for. Of course, you can also purchase Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade separately.
