Battle Royale as a reinterpretation of well-known classic games has been around Tetris 99 no real novelty anymore. So far we have not encountered a Bomberman Battle Royale! This niche now wants to occupy Bombergrounds: The curious game started on March 6, 2020 on Steam in Early Access and completely free playable.
Cute, but deadly
Bombergrounds relies on the well-known for its presentation cute bomberman style. Exaggerated little animals with big heads move through a game world divided into blocks and blast each other into nirvana with all sorts of bombs. The trailer for the early access release of Bombergrounds gives a good impression of how the game works:
That applies merciless rules of Battle Royale, unlike PUBG or CoD: Warzone but in a smaller format. In other words, up to 25 players play in bombergrounds per game, the game world continues to shrink, only the last surviving animal wins!
»It never gets boring«
The response on Steam is "very positive" with over 1,000 reviews, 90 percent of the players give a thumbs up

Early Access: Awesome or Overrated?
User Ace directly rejects his free time and writes: »RIP social life«. Player Satmu even calls Bombergrounds "perfect". Others see a "Bomberman 2.0" in the early-access game Bombergrounds or feel strongly reminded of earlier gaming days. The retro approach is popular.
Player Lastite has already sunk in bombergrounds for 15 hours and is largely enthusiastic, but also criticizes:
"I've played hundreds of games and it never gets boring. It's easy, the games are fast and there are almost no hangers. My only problem is the fact that I keep getting duplicates of my cosmetic items. I feel like once you have an item it should be removed from the pool of items you can get. Otherwise I love the game! "
