Gearbox Software is on everyone’s lips primarily because of the Borderlands series, but a new game brand is also set to cause a sensation in the future. It has now become known that the new IP will be published within the next few months.
Companies in the games industry submit their annual reports on a regular basis, giving investors a glimpse into the future. Now Take-Two has also presented current figures and an interesting side note of the associated report concerns the associated development studio Gearbox.
The publisher gave some insights into future plans – and that includes Gearbox in the coming months. It was confirmed that the developer’s new IP should appear before the end of the fiscal year 2022. This runs until March 31, 2022, so the new token from the Borderlands makers will actually be ready in the next 10 months.
Karl Slatoff, President of Take-Two, confirmed this fact to investors, but initially did not disclose any further details. A little later, Slatoff’s statement called Gearbox co-founder Randy Pitchford onto the scene, who at least affirmed that the new game was the result of “years of work”. In short: The new IP has been in the making for a long time.
In view of the approaching release, it shouldn’t be too long before there will be an official announcement from Gearbox. Possibly this is in the house for the Summer Games Festival 2021 or E3 2021 in June? Then there could also be initial information about another Take Two project, because by the end of the financial year another game is to be published in addition to the Gearbox title.
We’ll keep you up to date!
