A tax dispute has recently confirmed work on GTA 6, but Rockstar's announcement is still pending. However, this does not mean that the rumors and speculations about the next blockbuster will break down. Now a former Rockstar employee has commented on the possible release date.

Again and again there has been speculation over the past few months about the new Grand Theft Auto 6, which Rockstar is reportedly working on. While we are all waiting for the official announcement, rumors continue to grow about the release date. A former Rockstar employee has now jumped on this train – and does not necessarily give the numerous fans around the world hope that the time may soon come.
The market research company Jeffries recently spoke to Darion Lowenstein, a real veteran of the gaming industry, who worked for Activision, EA, Scopely and Rockstar Games. In the course of this, he also expressed himself in relation to the upcoming GTA 6.
Jeffries emphasizes that he "does not expect GTA 6 sometime in the near future" and more or less nullifies hopes of an early release. There were rumors on the web of an earliest release of the game in autumn 2020, but given the still lacking announcement and Insider Lowenstein's statement, that should now be confidently put aside.
>> Game Pass, Google Stadia, Playstation Now: The Netflix for games – is that the future?
The Jeffries report goes on to say: "As a former rock star employee, Darion stated that the Houser brothers placed a much higher value on game quality than on meeting any deadline. His absolute best-case scenario for a release of the game is therefore the Christmas season 2021. "
It is further emphasized that Lowenstein is not even expecting an announcement or a first trailer for the near future, which means he is also opposed to other speculations. These said that there might be a video clip about GTA 6 as early as February – for example an announcement of the PS5; Lowenstein does not assume this, however.
"In Darion's opinion, investors and players have to wait a whole lot longer," concludes GTA 6. So the wait is likely to continue!
