Not only in the story of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands there is a lack of anima: Many players are currently missing the resource because they are needed for all kinds of things in the current expansion. This causes a lot of frustration in the WoW community.
After Blizzard increased the number of Anima-Drops a few weeks ago and received a lot of positive feedback, now comes the next trick: You can get even more of this valuable resource from now on – but there is a catch.
More anima: this is how it works
In the future, there will be a larger anima reward for all unusual and infrequent activities. This includes completed world quests, completed orders from the mission table, PvP battles, Mythic + dungeons and raids.
Not for everyone, however! If you want to benefit from the increased anima drops, you must first invest a large amount of anima in your sanctum in order to complete one of three new achievements:
- From the rubble: Builds all four pact upgrades to level 1.
- Drought? What drought?: Builds all four pact upgrades to level 2.
- sanctura Saints: Builds all four pact upgrades to level 3.
For each completed achievement, the earned anima per activity increases by 35. However, these achievements are not tied to your account, but to the respective character. So you have to farm the successes again with each of your twinks.

You can see how this expresses itself in various cases in the following table:
Mythic + (Low Level)
Mythic + (Intermediate Level)
Mythic + (high level)
Nathria Castle – Bosses 1 to 8
Nathria Castle – Bosses 9 and 10
Fans are still not satisfied
Even if the change is only beneficial for players, many fans are still not satisfied. After all, you need several hundred thousand anima to be able to treat yourself to all the beautiful goodies, from mounts to weapon templates, at the pact dealer of your choice.
“In reality, that’s not an increase at all.”
“Cool, so I just have to grind endlessly anima to get everything slowly to level 3 and get that little boost.”
“It’s not enough. People leave the game. Reward them with reasonable rewards for their time.”
“Something that people have been complaining about for months and that has so far only been answered with radio silence is being addressed with a hotfix and only affects those who have activated their Sanctum features? Really now? I’m happy for the people who are still anima grind, but I would have liked to have had that months ago before I burned out and stopped playing. “
