SEGA and Amplitude Studios officially announced their latest 4X strategy game Humankind some time ago. As part of the Game Awards, there was finally the specific release date – and other news too.
With Humankind, the turn-based, history-based strategy game from Amplitude Studios was presented in more detail at the Game Awards. In this context, a new trailer was published and further information was available, including the next OpenDev gameplay session. The corresponding scenario can already be played in the new week and provides further game impressions.
The video celebrated the world premiere of a special personality in the game: Lucy is the leader of a civilization that she created from scratch. It is at the heart of the OpenDev scenario, which will be available December 15-28. From / until 4:00 p.m. on the days mentioned, fans will have the opportunity to get an idea of the title for themselves, the developers hope to get valuable feedback.
What exactly can you expect in this scenario? Four complete eras (which corresponds to 150 moves) can be played with 10 different cultures. There will be battles on land and sea, and you should be pushing diplomatic efforts with seven AI opponents.
The release date remains: The full version of Humankind should be available for the PC from April 22, 2021. Among other things, the release will then take place – in addition to the mandatory digital version – as a 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly Panorama Art Box and in a steel case version.
The box version brings various extras, as well as a more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition.
