Infinity Ward justifies the large disk space of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Those of us who are players of Call of Duty Modern Warfare and, in turn, players of Warzone, the free Battle Royale, every time we see that we have an update we have two possible thoughts. On the one hand, the obvious joy of receiving new content for our favorite video game but, on the other hand, the fear that it will not enter the hard drive of our PlayStation, 4 Xbox One or PC.

I think I do not discover the powder if I say that the total size that Modern Warfare requires in our game consoles and PCs it is absurdly large, reaching, today, occupying just under 200GB. This is a problem especially if we do not have a relatively large hard drive to save the game and it is even more worrying that, on PlayStation 5, it does not seem that they intend to increase the capacity of the hard drive too much.

Precisely about this problem of space and the large size required by the game, Paul Haile, production manager of Infinity Ward has been asked:

Modern Warfare and Warzone are massive experiences with tons of ways to play and new content being added regularly, and we are aware of the overall download size. As a team, we are committed to updating the game with new free content, of course, but it has also taken steps for overall game management, including a DLC package management screen for console users. This allows players to choose which DLC packages they want to keep and delete the others to recover more space «.

It is clear that the solution is not the most optimal to solve the current space problems since, if we want to free up space, we will have to delete some game mode that we use less or that we hardly use. Hopefully, for new installments of the game, this facet will be solved.

Since I had my first console when I was 10, I've never stopped playing. I'm a multiplatform player and my favorite genre is RPG.
